International Auto Film Festa 2025: Official Report

The International Auto Film Festa 2025 received 499 film entries from 73 countries, making it a diverse and enriching edition. Submissions spanned a wide range of genres including commercials, promotional videos, music videos, CG works, animation, drama, and documentary. The festival once again demonstrated its unique position as a platform merging automotive culture and cinema.

Talk Session at AUTOMOBILE COUNCIL 2025

On April 13, 2025

 

 

At the final day of AUTOMOBILE COUNCIL 2025 (held at Makuhari Messe), a talk session was conducted featuring IAFF Executive Committee members Yoshiyuki Shimizu and Peter Lyon, along with IAFF Ambassador Yumi Yoshida.

 

 

 

 

IAFF2025 Nominee Screenings

On April 15 – 20, 2025

 

 

Nominee films were screened at the 2nd-floor lounge of MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA (Minato-ku, Tokyo), prior to the Grand Prix announcement. With the support of MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA, IAFF held its first offline screening event.

 

Audience voting was introduced for the first time, allowing visitors to vote and leave messages for the filmmakers.

Award Ceremony

On April 26, 2025

 

The 2025 Award Party was held at AXIS Gallery (Roppongi, Tokyo), co-hosted with Le Garage.
Nominee directors in attendance were introduced, and winners of each category were announced.

Two new special awards were introduced: the Team UKYO Award and Best Car of the Year Award, presented by Mr. Ukyo Katayama and IAFF committee member Peter Lyon.
Additional media-sponsored awards were presented by CAR GRAPHIC, 8speed.net, and PRONEWS. Mr. Tom Inokawa, Editor-in-Chief of PRONEWS, attended the ceremony to present the award.

 

 

 

 

The Grand Prix and Drama Award were presented by Executive Director Yoshiyuki Shimizu and committee member Masahiro Terada.
